Found this little guy at college today

I wonder what he is majoring in.

He’s clearly going to bird school, which is for birds.

So he’s a lawyer

Golden-crowned Kinglet haha omg they’re so curious

" College kids literally don’t care about walking in the way of cars at school because we’re like “hit me i don’t care pay my tuition.”

This is perhaps the truest statement

REMINDER THAT SEX AND GENDER ARE THE SAME THING.

Look down at your genitals, if you have a penis, you’re a boy. If you have a vagina, you’re a girl. You can switch the genders at any time with an operation, but unless that’s done, you ARE your…

Actually, no. There are multiple things that define “gender”.

One, your genetics. Yep, you have an XX chromosome, you’re considered genetically female. You have an XY chromosome, you’re considered genetically male. Next, your body has to create the right duct work. For males it’s the controlled by testosterone and AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) secretion and they form a Wolffian duct system, which will eventually form the seminal vesicle, etc. Females in the absence of AMH will develop Mullerian ducts that will eventually make up the uterus, etc.

Then!! But you probably thought I was done.. ohh no. Then, the phenotypic sex has to be determined. That’s right, the THIRD step is for the body to produce either a vagina or penis. Last step is for the tonic and surge centers of the hypothalamus secreting the appropriate pulses of GnRH to regulate the anterior pituitary to secrete LH and FSH pulses in the female or male way. For the male, it depends on the conversion of testosterone to estradiol.

So no there really is no such thing as either male OR female. You can be both, you can be neither, you can be 2/3 part male and 1/3 part female, etc, etc. Honestly, if this doesn’t explain scientifically how/why people are transgender, homosexual, etc. then I don’t know what will. You were born the way you were born, so don’t label people into categories, because honestly, there are none.

“One small ward… housed at least 20 children, some of whom had slim chances of survival… Most shocking to me was the speed and urgency of their breathing, asleep or awake, it was uniformly unsettled and uneven. When you see a child struggling so hard simply to breathe, it makes your heart hurt.” — Tom Hiddleston
